Low Noise PSu Test Case

After our last two posts regarding our low noise PSUs, we had many questions regarding the performance degradation in a sensitive RF circuit related to the introduction of low noise general purpose DCDC converter. We thought that it is better to show with a quick experiment the reception degradation that will occur in a LNA stage when fed through a DCDC converter that states "low noise"characteristics, compared to our DCDC converter designed specifically for sensitive RF circuits.
In both cases we feed the PSU modules with 26V and we feed the LNA while we drive it with a -50dBm CW carrier and we monitor the output spectrum.
Both DCDC converters are without linear post regulator.
Next to come will be the degradation in performance in terms of phase noise and spurious in a PLL.
